Rooted in Zagori’s Herbal Traditions & Family-Led Farming

The herb farm is operated by a small team of growers, herbal enthusiasts, and culinary hosts who share a long-standing connection to Zagori’s mountains and their plant life. Many of the herb plots sit on land that has been worked by the same families for decades, where conventional crops slowly gave way to carefully managed terraces of oregano, savory, sage, and ironwort as interest in natural wellness and aromatic cooking grew. Today, the farm functions not only as a production space but as a living classroom, welcoming visitors who want to understand how respectful agriculture, biodiversity, and traditional knowledge can coexist with modern culinary creativity.

The hosting team designs each visit around storytelling and connection. Guests hear how seasonal wind patterns shape herb resilience, how nearby forests support pollinators, and how ancestral drying techniques continue to outperform many industrial methods. Workshops are intentionally hands-on: guests handle fresh and dried herbs, explore texture and color differences, and experiment with blending small tasting jars to match desired moods, meals, or wellness intentions. For those with professional culinary or mixology backgrounds, advanced sessions dive deeper into extraction methods, herb pairing frameworks, and menu integration, creating a bridge between traditional mountain farming and contemporary gastronomy.

Our mission is to keep the quiet craft of herb cultivation closely tied to the land while opening it to travelers, cooks, and wellness seekers eager to learn. Each season we refine tasting journeys, update teaching materials, and collaborate with neighboring producers so that every visit reflects both stability and evolution. In this way, the farm remains anchored in Zagori’s character yet open to new ideas, flavor experiments, and cross-cultural guests who bring their own stories to the tasting table.

Stone farmhouse and herb terraces overlooking Zagori mountains

Located close to the dramatic ridges and canyons of Zagori, the farm’s terraces overlook layers of forest and stone village rooftops, giving each tasting a spectacular backdrop.

Guests gather for sessions inside a restored stone house with wooden beams, clay pots, and shelves lined with glass jars of dried herbs, creating an atmosphere of quiet discovery.

Seasonal decorations with dried bouquets, wooden trays, and ceramic mugs mirror the changing colors of the surrounding hills and enhance the immersive feeling of each visit.
